St. John's, April 20, 2018-A large representation of citizens of Antigua and Barbuda traveled to Cuba in early April. The large delegation of 40 people, fulfilled a program of visits to historical places, cultural centers and other recreational areas. Blenis Vera Ortiz, Director of the Association of Cuban Residents in Antigua and Barbuda and Spanish professor at the Venezuelan Institute for Culture based in Antigua, centralized the preparation of the trip in coordination with the AMISTUR Agency of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP). The trip satisfied the dual purpose of expanding the knowledge of the Spanish language and approaching the current Cuban reality. As part of the various activities courtesy of the ICAP, the group visited the José Martí monument in Plaza de la Revolución and Che in Villa Clara, as well as the Prehistorical Mural in Pinar del Río along with other sites of interest.
