Vientiane April 8, 2022. A successful video conference took place between the highest representatives of the respective People's Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba and the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Com.. Esteban Lazo Hernandez and Cro. Xaysomphone Phomvihane. Both leaders reviewed the state of relations between the legislative bodies, in particular since the visit to Havana of the former president Com. Pany Yathoutou, occasion in which important agreements were signed aimed at enhancing cooperation between the respective Assemblies as well as the economic cooperation.
The Cro. Phomvihane reiterated the strong denunciation of the economic blockade imposed by the United States Government on the Cuban Government and people, and the need for its immediate elimination. For his part, Lazo Hernandez thanked the permanent support received by Laos in the multilateral arena and reiterated the commitment to continue coordinating and strengthening cooperation. The president of the ANPP also stressed that the ideas, concepts and guidelines of the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, considered the Congress of Unity and Continuity, held in April 2021, is the guide to advance by resisting creatively, and the greatest challenge to face, with the certainty that Cuba will resist and overcome victoriously.
