Kuala Lumpur, April 17 - The ambassador of Cuba in Malaysia, Ibete Fernández Hernández, was received in audience by the Sultan of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir at his palace in Hinggap.
During the meeting, the ambassador raised to the Sultan the interest of Cuba to strengthen the commercial relations with Malaysia and its willingness to explore with authorities of that State, mutually beneficial projects for both parties. The Sultan agreed on the infinite possibilities that exist to give greater content to bilateral ties and offered his collaboration to act in this regard.
Negeri Sembilan is one of the 9 royal states of Malaysia among which is chosen, from an established rotation, the King who will reign the country for five years.
Between 1942 and 1945, Negeri Sembilan suffered the Japanese occupation during World War II. In 1948, it joined the Federation of Malaya and became a state of Malaysia in 1963. Through manufacturing it is one of the states that most contributes to the economy of the country.
