Kingston, Jamaica, 25 October 2020. Sunday Sun, the official newspaper of the People’s National Party in Jamaica, published today a review of the statements of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, on the occasion of the presentation on October 22 of the Report by Cuba on resolution 74/7 of the United Nations General Assembly "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba."

Speaking about Cuba, the digital weekly of the main opposition party in Jamaica echoed a report from Prensa Latina entitled "The US causes losses of millions of dollars to Cuba even during Covid-19" which cites the alarming revelations of the Cuban minister on the impact of the blockade on the lives of Cubans and its extraterritorial scope, despite the insistent calls of the international community to cease this immoral and illegal practice.

According to the Minister's statements cited in the article, for the first time in almost 60 years the damage caused by the blockade exceeded the figure of 5 billion dollars in one year, while the US government has intensified its economic war against Cuba taking advantage of the situation caused by the pandemic, which constitutes an act of unprecedented cruelty.
