Namibia, July 8th, 2022. – Hon. Mrs. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, vice president of SWAPO, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, called for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, during the annual meeting with the Diplomatic Corps accredited in this African country.
In the presence of fifty representatives, the Namibian Minister expressed:
"Of course, we still believe that efforts should be made to stop the economic blockade on Cuba. As Cuba is a member of the international community deserves the best, like any other country, for them to continue pursuing their developing agenda."
The Foreign Minister also highlighted the work results of the V session of the Namibia-Cuba Joint Working Group, held in September 2022. During that meeting, the economic and cooperation ties between the two countries were reviewed. Similarly, new areas for investment and trade were identified.
For his part, Sidenio Acosta Aday, Ambassador of Cuba, thanked the Namibian leader for the solidarity and support of SWAPO, the Government and the Namibian people.
