Stockholm, February 22th. Representatives of solidarity groups with Cuba, political forces, Cuban residents and members of the state mission met at the Cuban Embassy in this capital to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the resumption of Cuban emancipatory struggles.
The central words of the activity were given by Ambassador Alba Soto Pimentel, who recalled the significance of the historical event as a continuation of previous insurrectional uprisings and as a previous link in subsequent political processes, reaffirming what Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz stated about the existence of a single revolution in national history, when he said: “(…) our revolution is a revolution, and that revolution began on October 10, 1868”
The cultural part of the event included the screening of images from the film El Mayor and a musical performance by artist Beatriz Pineda.
The participants who spoke highlighted the historical relevance of the event, while demanding the end of the unjust economic blockade against Cuba and the exclusion of our country from the spurious list of States sponsoring terrorism.
The space was also conducive for those present to recognize the work carried out for more than three years by the official Yohanna Cordero Llanuch, who will soon end her mission, and the arrival of the officials Laura Moriña Medina and David Roblejo Balbuena.
