Invited by Her Excellency Ambassador of Austria to Thailand, Dr. Eva Hager, and Dr. Michael J. Dichand, of Güssing Renewable Energy International Holding GmbH,I had the privilege of participating in the inauguration of a renewable energy generation project in Nong Bua, Nakhon Sawan province, Thailand.
The generating plant, which produces electricity using forestry and agricultural biomass as an input, is the first of its type in Asia and supplies electricity to 3,000 households as well as a refrigerated storage. The efficient environmental technology, originally introduced in Güssing, Austria, is neutral in CO2 emissions and has a non-incineration gasification. It also contributes to the use of agricultural waste for energy purposes, avoiding atmospheric pollution through its usual burning.
The project constitutes a successful experience in the search for alternatives to fossil fuels, as well as an example of international cooperation in the effective implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, adopted in 2015 by the international community.
Congratulations!
