Thailand and Cuba commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement

Thailand and Cuba marked the twentieth anniversary of the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement between the two governments with the signing today of a Memory of the exchanges between Ms. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director General of the Thai International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and the ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Thailand, Héctor Conde.

Both sides agreed that the relief of the current situation with Covid-19 provides an opportunity to revitalize development cooperation between both countries.

Recognizing the positive results of the continuous development cooperation that Thailand and Cuba have achieved so far, it was agreed to maintain the momentum of the 1st. Technical Cooperation Meeting between Thailand and Cuba on August 27 and 28, 2015 in which both countries identified sectors for collaboration such as agriculture, public health, education, tourism and energy.

Both representatives stressed that the year 2023 will mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cuba; as well as the importance in this framework of revitalizing cooperation in bilateral and/or trilateral joint development sectors.
