Three years after the ascent to Mount Olympus to place a national flag on its top.

Taken from Facebook of Oriol Marrero, counselor Embacuba Greece.
In the book located in the column that marks 2,918 meters above sea level, it was noted that day:
“Today, September 10, 2018, I climbed to the top of Mount Olympus. I brought a Cuban flag, as a symbol of the love between Greece and Cuba. Also the drawings and photos of Marcos and Angelito, as a sign of the struggle against the US government's blockade against my people and my country. Someday there will be no blockade of Cuba and a historical injustice will have been eliminated ... 10:00 am ”.
After three years, the barbarous and sickly imperial blockade has intensified even more as a criminal machine, especially in pandemic conditions, trying to stifle the heroic resistance of the noble Cuban people, by the way, as the siege of Numancia tried in his time ( Roman Empire), against which the heroic "Numantine resistance" would rise and go down in history; as the sieges of the sacred city of Missolonghi (Ottoman Empire) attempted, against which the “we will fight and die, but we will not surrender” would rise and go down in history, also evoked by Martí; as happened many centuries before in Thermopylae (Persian empire), under the demand to deliver "air, land and water" to the enemy, and before which the "come and take them" of Leonidas would rise and go down in history, also evoked by Martí; as would happen in the poetic and patriotic imaginary of the young Martí in Abdala, symbolized in the iconic, “and Nubia fights which Sparta fights”; or also Martí himself, with his vision of "preventing in time with the independence of Cuba the United States from spreading through the Antilles and falling, with that extra force, on our lands in America" (North American empire); just as Maceo had cut off the wind before: “We don't understand each other” (Spanish empire); as Che would warn him: "Not one bit like that" (North American empire), as Fidel would bequeath it, and the heroic epic of Girón: "Patria o Muerte, Venceremos" (Homeland or Death we will win).
Then, Numancia, Termopilas, Missolonghi, Nubia, Esparta, Baraguá or Girón: the resistance of the Cuban people against the imperial war that has been growing and uninterrupted for more than 60 years today symbolizes that, and more. The flag of the Homeland that floated on Olympus symbolizes that heroic resistance, the history of struggles of a people, of a Nation, its aspirations, and its example of solidarity.
In pictures: ascent and placement of a Cuban flag on the Mýtikas peak, Mount Olympus, on September 10, 2018, as well as at the Kakalos refuge, on the Plateau of the Muses, Plató de Oropedio, where several people wanted to be photographed with the Cuban national ensign and they spontaneously hoisted it in that important refuge of Mount Olympus, which takes its name from the first person who climbed, in 1913, the highest point in Greece and second in the Balkan mountain range. Those who wish to expand on this climb can consult in the digital Bohemia and written the article A Cuban flag on Olympus.
