General Secretary of the Communist Party and president of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, received Cuban ambassador, Lianys Torres Rivera, at the end of her mission in the Indochinese country.
Top Vietnamese leader thanked the diplomat for his contributions to deepening the relations of special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.
Phu Trong appreciated the flexible organization of commemorative activities for the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties, which will be held on December 2nd. He affirmed that Vietnam and Cuba are sister countries, willing to share and support each other in difficult times.
He expressed his conviction that Cuba will continue to obtain positive results in updating its economic and social model and in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. He wished success in organizing the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
Cuban Ambassador ratified Cuba's willingness to continue fostering traditional friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States.
She highlighted Vietnam's success in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic and its performance in the presidency of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this 2020.
