On May 30, a fruitful meeting was held with representatives of Comercializadora de Servicios Médicos Cubanos S.A., as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation in the fields of tourism and healthcare.

During the meeting, key topics related to the export of medical services, health and wellness programs in Cuba, as well as new opportunities for scientific collaboration and the training of professionals in the sector were discussed.

Representing the Cuban Embassy in the United Kingdom were Tourism Counselor Mayté Suárez Rueda, First Secretary Soima Méndez Lazo, Dr. Sacha Lazo del Vallín, and Tourism Office Specialist Isabel Jiménez Jiménez.

Representing Cuban Medical Services were Dr. Iliana Reyes Álvarez, head of the sales center, and commercial specialists Dr. Osvaldo Héctor Ardisana and Tania Vázquez García.

Both parties emphasized the importance of developing health tourism as one of the country's strategic lines. They highlighted the value of the partnership between the tourism and health sectors, which allows for the provision of highly specialized medical services to international visitors in quality facilities and with highly qualified professionals.

Among the flagship medical programs mentioned were therapies for retinitis pigmentosa, the use of Heberprot-P for the treatment of diabetic foot, comprehensive services for neurological restoration, and the application of internationally renowned therapeutic vaccines against lung cancer, such as Vaxira and CIMAvax-EGF.

The debate also provided an opportunity to discuss the Wellness Room, a product designed to promote physical and mental well-being and recently launched at the International Health Convention.

During the meeting, the commitment to international solidarity and the humanistic vocation that characterizes the Cuban health system were reaffirmed, as well as the willingness to continue developing initiatives that promote universal access to excellent medical services.

This meeting is part of the strategy to consolidate Cuba's presence in the international health arena and continue promoting accessible, inclusive, and quality healthcare for all.
