London, 18 February 2026. After more than two decades of occasional exchanges between experts, the National Botanical Garden of Cuba (JBN) and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (Kew Gardens) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific and Academic Collaboration that takes their historic relationship to new heights.

On May 30, a fruitful meeting was held with representatives of Comercializadora de Servicios Médicos Cubanos S.A., as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation in the fields of tourism and healthcare.

During the meeting, key topics related to the export of medical services, health and wellness programs in Cuba, as well as new opportunities for scientific collaboration and the training of professionals in the sector were discussed.

The digitisation of the historical documents held by the National Archive will make these records, which constitute a key source for the study of the colonial period of Cuba's history in the 21st century, available to the international academic community.

London, 2 May 2025 - Cuba and the United Kingdom are strengthening their collaboration in the preservation of documentary heritage through the digitisation project of the Prisoners' Record Books of the Royal Prison of Havana, as part of the British Library's Endangered Archives programme.
