Prague, March 21, 2026.- The Trade Union Association of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia issued a public statement expressing its categorical rejection of the United States government's actions against Cuba. In a gesture of profound solidarity with Cuban workers and people, the Czech trade union organization joined the international call of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) to demand an end to the policies of economic suffocation against the Island.
Within the framework of the annual review meeting of the Czech-Cuban Friendship Association, the Cuban Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Saylín Martínez, thanked the representatives of this trade union organization and friends of Cuba in Czechia for their defense of truth and justice, highlighting the importance of solidarity with the Island in the current scenario.
During the session, the attending trade union representatives reaffirmed their stance of support for Cuba, in which they described the current U.S. administration as the perpetrator of a "21st-century genocide." Under the slogan "Cuba is not alone!", the union emphasized that the Cuban nation represents no threat to anyone and demanded an immediate end to coercive measures. This display of brotherhood, received with gratitude, ratifies the growing international consensus demanding respect for the sovereignty of the Cuban people.
