Traditional Cuban Mojito Bar Opens at the Latin America and Caribbean Week

Paris, 5 June 2025. As part of the celebrations for the Latin America and Caribbean Week at UNESCO, the traditional “Bar à Mojito Cubain” opened its doors this Thursday, reaffirming itself as one of the most anticipated and popular gatherings for visitors each year.

Located in front of the Miró 3 Room, the bar welcomed guests from 17:00, offering them the chance to taste the authenticity of Cuban light rum through the island’s iconic national cocktail: the mojito. This proposal has become an invitation to discover not only the freshness and unique flavour of this drink, but also the cultural and heritage wealth that sustains its history.

The art of preparing a good mojito reflects the tradition of the Masters of Cuban Light Rum, bearers of ancestral know-how that has ensured the intergenerational transmission of scientific knowledge, traditional practices and social values linked to the development of the nation’s sugar agro-industrial heritage. This tradition, a source of pride for Cuban culture, was recognised in December 2022 as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The Cuban Mojito Bar is also presented as a sensory experience evoking the warmth of Caribbean hospitality and the joy that characterises Cuban gatherings. Each drink is a tribute to sugar cane, to the mastery of distillation, and to the ingenuity of those who, from the cane fields to the bar counters, keep this cultural expression alive.
