Stockholm, Sweden - January 27, 2024 - Almost a hundred friends of Cuba belonging to various political and solidarity organizations, along with Cubans residing in Sweden, gathered at the Cuban Embassy this January 27, to celebrate the anniversary 171 of the birth of José Martí and 65 of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
In the central words of the event, the Ambassador of Cuba, Alba Soto Pimentel, recognized the guidance of the Master on the path outlined by Fidel that January 1, 1959, which marked a before and after for Cuba. She reaffirmed the commitment to continue fighting tirelessly to preserve our conquests and ratified the decision not to surrender to the economic and financial pressures imposed by the United States to destroy our socialist project. She thanked her friends, Cuba and her compatriots for their support in these 65 years of the Revolution.
The various solidarity, political and resident Cuban organizations sent messages of congratulations to the people and government of Cuba for another year of victories, condemned the cruel and inhumane blockade imposed by the US government and reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting the Island in its fight. At the end, those present were able to enjoy a cultural segment, in which the musical talent of the artists, Pepe y Mary and Beatríz Pineda, made the audience vibrate with emotion, to the rhythm of “Cuba que linda es Cuba” and other songs.
