Istanbul, Turkey, October 7, 2018. Ambassador Luis Amorós Núñez and the other officials of the Cuban Embassy in Turkey held a meeting with a large group of members of the Cuban community living in Istanbul, their children and other relatives.
The head of the diplomatic legation updated on the debate regarding the new Cuban Constitution, highlighted the openness of this process for participation of all residents abroad and detailed about the 40th anniversary of the beginning of the dialogue with emigration and the development of this relationship, as Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel pointed out during his recent and successful visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York, United States.
On the occasion, it was condemned the unjust US blockade against the Caribbean nation, whose international rejection must be reissued on October 31 at the UN, and tributes were made for the upcoming 150 years of the beginning of the wars of independence in Cuba and 51 of the physical disappearance of Che Guevara. As part of this remembrance, emotional songs were performed, such as "Hasta siempre Comandante".
The final part of the gathering was a festive activity, where there was no shortage of participation’s games, raffles and moments of colouring symbols and national attributes with the participation of the many present children, as well as neither shortage of Cuban music, dance and food.
