The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, was honored at the State University of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan, Azerbaijan, on the first anniversary of his physical disappearance, diplomatic sources reported.
The faculties of International Relations and Foreign Languages of the aforementioned house of high studies participated in a conference given by the ambassador of Cuba in this Caucasian nation, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, about the historical leader of the Cuban revolutionary process.
In the tribute, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the legacy of Fidel in defense of the sovereignty and self-determination of the peoples.
He also highlighted the role played by the Cuban revolutionary in the struggle of the Non-Aligned Movement, and his leadership in anti-imperialist and anti-colonialist battles.
The head of the diplomatic mission highlighted Fidel's spirit of solidarity and his work in defense of humanity.
Nieves Portuondo also exalted the oratory of the Cuban politician and his intellectual thought.
With this conference, in the cradle of the leader of the Azerbaijani nation, Gueidar Aliyev, this country joins commemorations around the world in honor of the figure and political ideology of Fidel Castro Ruz, one year after his death, which will be fulfilled on November 25.
