Tribute to Fidel Castro at the Cuban Embassy in Zimbabwe

Harare, November 25, 2025 – The legacy of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, marked today's tribute at the Cuban diplomatic mission in Zimbabwe, on the ninth anniversary of the Commander-in-Chief's passing.

The moving tribute to the man whose example of dignity, social justice, independence, and sovereignty served to reaffirm the enduring relevance of his work and thought in defending the revolutionary project in the face of adversity.

Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa urged the members of the staff to apply the motto #YoSoyFidel (I am Fidel) every day in the face of the challenges we face, in the daily fulfillment of our duties.

And with the certainty that, although nothing has been easy for our country, nor will it be, we will emerge victorious, as Fidel and our compatriots deserve, Pérez Mesa emphasized.

Those present recalled the masterful definitions of Cuban history contained in the statements of the Historical Leader to the American filmmaker Oliver Stone, reflected in the documentary film “Comandante.”

The days of tribute to Fidel in Harare will include other activities in the coming days, with members of the Cuban Medical Brigade and solidarity friends in Zimbabwe, as part of the celebrations for his Centenary until August 13, 2026.
