The 93rd anniversary of the birth of the Commander in Chief was celebrated yesterday, August 13th, in Saint Lucia, with a cultural activity in which the President of the Humanistic Solidarity Association (Saint Lucia - Cuba), Marlene Alexander participated as well as the members of the Cuban State Mission in this country, led by the Ambassador Alejandro Simancas.
The Cuban Collaborators presented on the work of Fidel in the development of the educational and health systems in Cuba and documentaries were shown which illustrated his presence, work and long-standing concern for those particular areas; the pride of our Revolution. Poems dedicated to the historic leader of the Revolution were read out loud, while Marlene Alexander read a communiqué representing the people of Saint Lucia, reminding us of Fidel's example for Cuba and the region and denounced the new aggressive escalation from the United States against Cuba. The Cuban Ambassador ended the activity by highlighting the guidance and example of Fidel in Cuba's solidarity work all over the world and in particular in the Caribbean and with Saint Lucia, a country with which, this year, we mark 40 years of bilateral relations based on friendship, solidarity and cooperation.
