Tribute to Fidel in Thailand on the 94th anniversary of his birth

BANGKOK, August 12, 2020.- An emotional tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz took place at the Cuban Embassy in Thailand, on the 94th anniversary of his birth on August 13, 2020.

At the event, which featured the projection of the audiovisual material "Ode to the Revolution", historical and current information was provided on the work of the Cuban Revolution of 1959, its principles of independence and national sovereignty, solidarity and internationalism. Participants highlighted the validity of revolutionary ideas and the legacy of the Commander in Chief.

Fidel's guide and example are latent in the daily battles of the new generations of Cubans for the continuity of the conquests of the Revolution; in the current updating process of Cuba's socialist system; in the extraordinary work in 57 years of more than 400,000 internationalist Cuban doctors in more than 164 countries of the world; of the 28,000 Cuban doctors currently active in 59 countries and of the 42 additional brigades of the “Henry Reeve” medical contingent that assist 35 countries in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The meeting served as a propitious framework for denouncing the illegal and genocidal economic, commercial and financial blockade that successive US administrations have maintained against Cuba for 60 years.
