Athens, May 19 On Tuesday, May 19, the 125th anniversary of the battle death of our National Hero, José Martí, is commemorated. In three different places, personal and family tribute can be paid to Martí on the 125th anniversary of his fall in combat, this May 19.
On Monday, May 18, work was carried out on the cleaning and conditioning of the bust of José Martí and surrounding areas. The monument to José Martí in Athens is located in the central Athenian park called Brasilia. The bust was erected since 2013, and is the work of the Cuban sculptor Félix Madrigal.
On Tuesday, May 19, everyone is invited to visit the bust of José Martí and pay his personal and family tribute to the Apostle, with a bouquet of flowers, with a flower, with his presence. The reasons why there will be no public and massive activity this year are understood. But that doesn't mean he didn't deserve homage. Each Cuban-Greek family will be able to attend voluntarily and pay worthy tribute to Martí at the time that is most appropriate for him. The moment is decided by each person and family.
In addition, josé Martí can be paid tribute by visiting the photographic exhibition" "José Martí: with Greece in the Heart", at the Syntagma and Acropolis metro stations, where it has been on display since March 13, 2020. Important: at the two Metro stations the photos and texts are different. It's the same exposure, but it's two parts. Those who wish to see it complete, and know the Marti´s texts on Greece, concentrated - which are scattered in more than 160 works by Martí - it is recommended to go to both stations. In addition, this edition of the exhibition shows about 80 places in Greece mentioned by Martí, that is, 30 more than in the editions presented earlier in Athens, Lefkada and Ikaria. All texts are in Spanish and Greek.
In the Metro Plaza Syntagma the expo is located in front, as we go down the stairs, by the usual entrance in front of the Parliament of the Greeks, in Syntagma Square. At The Acropolis Station anyway. Go down the stairs of the station located to the left of the Partonon, front, at the point of entry to the lines, after the machines, next to the archaeological pieces of Ancient Greece found when they made the Station. Tributes to Martí in Athens have already begun by brothers from Paraguay, Chile, Greece, and Cuban compatriots: in the bust of the Apostle in Brasilia Park, at the Acropolis Metro station, and at the Syntagma Metro station.
