Tribute in Guyana to the Martyrs of Barbados.

Georgetown, October 6, 2022. In the morning, a tribute was paid to the victims of the brutal terrorist attack on Cubana de Avión CU-455, which occurred on October 6, 1976, and claimed the lives of 73 people, of them, 5 Korean citizens, 11 Guyanese and 57 Cubans. This abominable crime was committed by the Cuban counterrevolution, which had the support and protection of the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States of America.
The act was presided over by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Guyana, Dr. Frank Anthony, who laid a wreath at the monument to the victims of this despicable sabotage which is located on the campus of the University of Guyanese. Floral offerings were laid by the Honorary Consul of Barbados, Captain Gerald Gouveia, by representatives of the relatives of the Korean and Guyanese victims, and by the Ambassador of Cuba, Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro. Members of the diplomatic corps, members of the Guyana-Cuba Solidarity Movement, health collaborators, and officials of the Cuban diplomatic mission also attended the event.
