Tribute to José Martí 172 years after his birth.

On the occasion of the 172nd anniversary of the birth of José Martí, the Cuban Embassy in Türkiye, friends of solidarity and Cubans living in Ankara gathered in the Park named after him in the Turkish capital to pay a heartfelt tribute to the most universal of all Cubans.
In this symbolic place, which recalls the memory of a giant of Cuban history, a hero, whose light continues to illuminate the path of the Cuban people.
The Cuban Ambassador to Türkiye, Alejandro Díaz Palacios; Emir Büyükant, Member of the Communist Party of Türkiye in Ankara and Hakan Bulut, on behalf of the Cuba-Turkey Solidarity Association ‘José Martí’, took the floor. Deep appreciation was expressed for the historical legacy of our National Hero, when the validity of his pro-independence and anti-imperialist thinking, his visionary ideas in favor of the most vulnerable, and his broad humanist work becomes more evident.
The occasion was also propitious to condemn the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba and the inclusion of the island in the list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
