Kuala Lumpur, February 25 - Invited by the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Latin American Studies Center of the National University of Malaysia (UKM), the Cuban Ambassador in that country, Ibete Fernández Hernández, deliver a lecture entitled "Bolívar in Martí and the Cuban Revolution".
The conference referred to the validity of José Martí's ideals in the current context and from a historical perspective, to the influence of Simón Bolívar's thinking on our national hero mainly in terms of the unity of Latin America.
The ambassador highlighted in her introduction the dedication of the lecture to the 124th anniversary of the resumption of the wars of independence and the 166th anniversary of the birth of José Martí, the organizer par excellence of this stage of struggle.
The lecure took place in the framework of the sixth edition of public lectura series organized by the Simon Bolivar Chair of the National University of Malaysia.
The Chargé d'Affaires of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, thanked the support that her country is receiving from Cuba at the present juncture in which the United States and its allies intend to overthrow the Venezuelan government.
