Tribute to José Martí in Malaysia on the occasion of the 123th anniversary of his death in combat

Kuala Lumpur, May 21 - With the title "Learning from the ideals of José Martí and Daisaku Ikeda for a bright and humanistic future ", the ambassador of Cuba in Malaysia, Ibete Fernández Hernández, gave a lecture in the Soka Gakkai Malaysia auditorium (SGM) ).

In her dissertation the ambassador invited the participants to review the work of José Martí to learn and understand the importance of man in the transformation of society through dedication and commitment to just causes.

He also said that "José Martí and Daisaku Ikeda, despite being form different eras, have coincided in thought and action. Both were interested in constructing a safe future for their fellow human beings, where humanism would be the cornerstone in the achievement of peace and well-being, however in my opinion the highest coincidence in their lives lies in the use of the word as a weapon for transmit their ideas. "

He added that the study of the thought of Marti and Ikeda is a must for present and future generations, for its current value in building a better world, where peaceful coexistence and respect for dignity are consciously exercised by global citizens.

The ambassador took the opportunity to invite those present to participate in the International Conference "For the balance of the world", to be held in Havana from January 28 to 31, 2019, a space designed to analyze and debate the validity of Marti's thought.

The conference was attended by 150 people, including members of the diplomatic corps and Soka Gakkai and a representation of the Association of Friendship with Cuba.
