Tribute to the Leader of the Cuban Revolution commemorated in New Zealand

Auckland, November 24, 2024.- The Cuban Ambassador to New Zealand, Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, attended a tribute in commemoration of the anniversary of the death of Fidel Castro Ruz, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, held at the FIRST Union headquarters.

During the event, the documentary "Fidel is Fidel", directed by the renowned Cuban filmmaker Roberto Chile, was screened. This documentary, which honors the life and legacy of Fidel Castro, moved the attendees, reminding them of the enduring influence of his figure in the history of Cuba and the world.

Following the screening, the Cuban ambassador had a productive exchange with members of the Cuba Friendship Association. During this meeting, the diplomat shared updated information about the ongoing recovery efforts in Cuba following the passage of hurricanes Oscar and Rafael.

The event highlighted the strong bonds of solidarity between the peoples of Cuba and New Zealand, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to the values of cooperation and mutual support.
