Georgetown. August 14, 2017. The Cuban women's soccer team under 17 spent their 8-0 win last night against the local team on the 91st birthday of the Commander-in-Chief, qualifying for the tournament of The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), held in Georgetown from 9 to 13 August.
The girls were deployed in depth to reach the wide marker after having sealed 0-0 with Barbados last Friday and the latter having previously defeated the Guyanese 5-1. The captain of the Cuban team stressed that they gave everything for a game that would allow them to be able to move to the next competitive stage and as greatest promoter of the revolutionary sport, Fidel.
The members of the Cuban diplomatic mission, health workers, Cuban residents, solidarity entities, representatives of the Venezuelan Embassy and friends in general, who encouraged the Cuban player girls from the stands, celebrated the triumph and remembered in an emotional encounter the work of Fidel and his particular and successful development of the revolutionary sport.
