As part of the celebrations to commemorate the historic assaults on the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in Bayamo, as well as the birth of our undefeated Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, a group of friends from the Cuba-Türkiye Solidarity Association in conjunction with the Cuban Embassy climbed to the summit of Mount Hasan, a dormant volcano located between the provinces of Niğde and Aksaray in Türkiye; with an altitude of 3253 m, it is considered the second highest mountain in Central Anatolia.
The occasion also served to make a strong condemnation of the genocidal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the government of the United States and to demand the exclusion of Cuba from the spurious list of alleged State sponsors of terrorism.
Intense emotions were experienced during the 6 hours it took the group of 11 people to reach the summit, among them the Cuban Embassy Counselor Oscar Redondo Ramos and his wife Yorliet Díaz Suárez.
