Turkish Friends Reaffirm Solidarity with Cuba During May Day Celebrations in Havana

Members of a Turkish friendship delegation took part in International Workers’ Day celebrations at Revolution Square, as well as in solidarity activities led by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic.

The visitors highlighted the massive popular participation in the May Day festivities, describing the presence of millions of Cubans in the historic gathering as impressive, as they reaffirmed their commitment to the Revolution and the defense of its social achievements.

“Today we celebrated May Day in Havana. There are millions of people in the square, and as friends from Turkey, we have conveyed the greetings we brought on behalf of the Turkish people. Witnessing the enthusiasm and determination of the Cuban people up close reminds us once again how tangible solidarity can be,” they stated.

They also emphasized that their presence in Cuba was far more than a simple act of observation. “Being here means seeing how different parts of the same struggle come together and move forward side by side,” they said.

At the end of their visit to the island, the Turkish representatives expressed a shared conviction: “Cuba is not alone.”, reaffirming the bonds of friendship and solidarity between both peoples.
