The President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan received on an official visit the President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez who responded to an invitation made by his Turkish counterpart. The meeting coincided with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Present from the Turkish side were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt Çavusoglu, the Minister of Energy, Fatih Dönmez, the Minister of Finance, Nureddin Nebati, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, and the Minister of Commerce, Mehmet Mus.
The Cuban delegation, the largest to travel abroad since the beginning of the pandemic, was made up of Deputy Prime Minister Alejandro Gil, as well as the heads of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, Foreign Trade, Rodrigo Malmierca, and Energy, Vicente de la O Levy.
