The Cuba-Türkiye José Martí Solidarity Association together with the Community of Socialist Thought of the Middle East Public University (METU) of Ankara and the Cuban Embassy in Türkiye the Community of Socialist Thought of the Middle East Public University (METU) of Ankara and the Cuban Embassy in Türkiye paid tribute to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, on the 8th anniversary of his physical disappearance.
In a conversation with young university students dedicated to evoke his work, his political thought and legacy, the Ambassador of Cuba, Dr. Alejandro Diaz Palacios, spoke about Fidel's leadership at the head of one of the most influential liberation movements for Latin America and one of the leftist governments with the greatest regional and global impact.
The Ambassador also referred to his role in the consolidation of the revolutionary process; Cuba's economic and social transformations; the development of education, health, sports, culture and science.
He emphasized the idea that Fidel designed, guided and executed a foreign policy of total independence and global extension, and an internationalist teaching.
In addition, he promoted on a global scale the battle of the Third World against the current world economic order and advocated a policy of solidarity among the oppressed and respect for the sovereignty of peoples.
