The Vice President of the Republic of Turkey, Fuat Oktay, received this Friday afternoon, May 20, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz.
During the cordial meeting, Oktay and Cabrisas reviewed the positive state of political relations between the two countries and agreed on the importance of promoting and deepening economic, trade, financial and cooperation relations between Havana and Ankara, especially in areas such as renewable energy, agriculture, livestock, health and tourism.
Cabrisas conveyed President Díaz-Canel's warm greetings to Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan and expressed his gratitude for Turkey's traditional position in favour of the resolution that the United Nations General Assembly passes every year against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
The Cuban side was represented by the Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emilio Lozada García, and the Cuban Ambassador to Turkey, Dr. Alejandro F. Díaz Palacios.
On the Turkish side, H. Halil Afsarata, Senior Advisor to the Vice President of Turkey, and Ambassador Ramis Sen, Director General a.i. for the Americas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, took part.
