In a friendly atmosphere, representatives of scientific and health institutions from Türkiye and Cuba held a working meeting with the aim of exchanging, in general terms, on the state of bilateral relations. During the meeting, the parties highlighted the positive development of ties in strategic areas such as biotechnology, scientific research, and public health. Likewise, the shared interest in continuing to strengthen institutional cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the identification of new opportunities for collaboration was underlined. The participants agreed on the importance of consolidating existing channels of dialogue and promoting joint initiatives that contribute to scientific progress and the well-being of both nations. At the meeting, both sides expressed their willingness to continue promoting bilateral relations on the basis of mutual benefit. On the Turkish side, participants included Prof. Dr. F. Duygu Özel Demiralp, President of the Biotechnology Institute of Türkiye (TÜSEB); Prof. Dr. Burak Civelek, President of the Cancer Institute of Türkiye (TÜSEB); Fatih Karademir, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of TÜSEB; and Gamze Karaköse, Specialist at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye. On the Cuban side, participants included Dr. Eulogio Pimentel, First Vice President of BİOCUBAFARMA; Dr. Jorge Valdés Hernández, Deputy Director General of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB); as well as the Ambassador of Cuba to Türkiye, Alejandro Díaz Palacios, and the Embassy Counselor, Oscar Redondo Ramos.
