Türkiye, on behalf of the OIC, reiterates at the UN its call for an end to the blockade against Cuba

Türkiye's Permanent Representative to the United Nations addressed the UN General Assembly debate on 7 July on behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), reiterating the call for the immediate end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.

During the debate, the representative stressed that "the blockade not only affects Cuba's commercial sector and national economic activities, but has also had disastrous humanitarian consequences for the entire Cuban population," reaffirming the OIC's rejection of this policy and its support for the repeated UN General Assembly resolutions calling for its end.
