Kampala. On the morning of February 1, the Ambassador of Cuba Tania Perez Xiques was received by the Honorable Anyakun Esther Davina, Minister of State for attention to emergency and disaster preparedness, as well as refugees.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat explained the priority the Cuban government grants to this activity, the Cuban experience in international cooperation, mainly in the Caribbean area, and urged participation in the XI International Congress on Disasters to be held in Havana next June.
The Ugandan counterpart pointed out the priorities in which they are currently working with the purpose of forming a 10-year strategy for disaster preparedness and ensured their participation in the aforementioned event.
