In the meeting with the Permanent Representatives of the Alliance, the senior United Nations official highlighted that this pandemic poses particular socioeconomic and healthcare challenges for small island developing states. Likewise, she emphasized the solidarity contribution of Cuba and its medical brigades that join the global efforts to combat the current healthcare crisis and safeguard the achievements of the United Nations and its Member States in the field of sustainable development.

After fifteen years of heroic anecdotes and humanitarian deeds, the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade is now present in 22 nations around the world, where approximately 1500 Cuban doctors fight to put an end to the COVID-19 pandemic.
