Paris, 26 February. This afternoon, the G77 and China chapter at UNESCO recognized the work of Ambassador Yahima Esquivel Moynelo and her contribution to the strengthening the Group in the Organization.
At the plenary meeting of the Group of 77 and China, at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, the representatives of the member countries of the Group highlighted the work of the Cuban Ambassador in favor of unity and her role in reactivating the G77 chapter in UNESCO.
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to UNESCO, Munir Anastas, on behalf of the Group thanked the Cuban government for its leadership in promoting the interests of the countries of the South.
As part of the meeting, Ambassador Esquivel made a presentation with the main results of the Cuban presidency of the G-77 and China, highlighting the initiatives linked to UNESCO's areas of competence. He conveyed warm congratulations to Uganda in its capacity as a friendly country and current president pro tempore of the G-77 and China, while reaffirming Cuba's willingness to contribute to the success of its administration.
