NASSAU, March 16th, 2018.- Different manifestations of Cuban culture were present at the 14th Edition of the Foreign Languages Day, an event that takes place every year at the University of The Bahamas.
Organized by the Faculties of Communication and Creative Arts, the meeting counted with the representation of cultural expressions from different countries, which were of the attraction of students, professors and other guests.
On this occasion, the presence of Cuba at the event included the recitation of the poem "Son numero 6" by Nicolás Guillén, by Cuban professor Mirelys Agüero Johansen. Besides, the Cuban resident Silvia Irene Blanco delighted the audience with a performance by Orishas that showed painting, modeling and drumming. In the same way, the casino dance was present, with the excellent performance of the Cuban residents Horacio Pelayo Herrera and Daimara Calzada Calatayud. The Cuban culinary was another one of the attractions.
In the words of the Ambassador of Cuba, Ismara Vargas Walter, the diplomat highlighted the excellent links of Cuba with the University of The Bahamas. She also expressed the interest of both parties to continue consolidating the existing relations.
For their part, the organizers of the event expressed admiration for the originality and diversity of the presentations that Cuba made.
