The University of Guyana wishes to strengthen ties with its Cuban counterparts.

Georgetown, April 13, 2018. Ambassador Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro received, at the Cuban diplomatic mission, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Guyana, Barbara G. Reynolds and the Senior International Engagement Officer of this center of studies, Nikki Cole.

During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor expressed the University of Guyana's interest in establishing academic relations with Cuban universities, especially with the University of Havana.

The Ambassador expressed the willingness of the Government of Cuba to strengthen and expand bilateral relations between Guyana and Cuba, particularly in the education sector, and in this regard welcomed the interest expressed by the University of Guyana.
