The University of Havana and the University of the West Indies of Barbados signed a Collaboration Agreement.

This afternoon, March 24, 2025, a collaboration agreement was signed between the University of Western Languages, Cave Hill Campus of Barbados (UWI) and the University of Havana.

The document was signed by Dr. Miriam Nicado García, Rector of the University of Havana and Professor Winston Moore, Vice Rector of the UWI. The signing of the agreement was also attended by Dr. Antonio Romero Gómez, president of the “Norman Girvan” Caribbean Chair of the University of Havana,the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Barbados, Yanet Stable Cárdenas and Olga Dalmau González, Consul of Cuba in this Caribbean country. 

Within the framework of this collaboration agreement, both institutions will be able to develop teaching and scientific collaboration projects for the benefit of the development of higher education, culture and scientific research for its application in the economic and social spheres of both countries. 

With the signing of this bilateral collaboration agreement, the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2018 between both university institutions was updated.
