Helsinki, April 25, 2023- A night of emotions was experienced this Wednesday from the University of Helsinki, when José Martí was revived from his patriotic greatness, during the tribute offered on the occasion of the 170th Anniversary of his birth, celebrated in the year that pass. The audience appreciated an exquisite remembrance of the editor and researcher Aleksi Siltala and the "Simple Verses" in Finnish exposed by the renowned linguist Jyrki Lappi-Seppälä.
The Embassy thanked the University of Helsinki, especially Dr. Florencia Quesada and Dr. Jussi Pakkasvirta, holders of the Chair of Latin American Studies for such heartfelt tribute to the Apostle of Cuba. Also the accompaniment of the ambassadors of Uruguay, Colombia and Mexico, the Consul of Spain and authorities of the Foreign Ministry of Finland.
Special mention dedicated to the speakers, to the members of the Finland-Cuba Association, of the Association of Spanish teachers, students and friends of Cuba who came to accompany the tribute and thanked the tribute to the "Most Universal of Cubans", José Martí.
