University of Zimbabwe negotiates partnership agreement with Heber Biotec
On Saturday, September 9, a delegation of 3 specialists from the University of Zimbabwe came to Cuba to negotiate a collaboration agreement with Heber Biotec on the manufacture of medicines. The visit, which runs until September 15, will also assess how to introduce these products in Zimbabwe.
This delegation includes PhD. Joy Chifamba, Pharmacist and Senior Lecturer; Ms. Tendayi Roy Chihaka, pharmacist and lecturer; and PhD. Dexter Tagwireyi, associate professor, all from the UZ. The trip continues the successful visit of university vice-rectors led by the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Professor Jonathan Moyo in May 2017.
Heber Biotec, belonging to the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, is one of the leading companies in the biopharmaceutical industry in Cuba. In their laboratories produce various products to treat diseases such as Hepatitis B, Diphtheria, diabetic foot ulcers and some types of cancer.
