A delegation of Türkiye’s Vatan Party, headed by its Vice President Serdar Üsküplü, paid a visit to the Consulate General of the Republic of Cuba to express its deepest condolences over the death of 32 Cuban combatants during the attack by the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
During the meeting, the Vatan Party delegation conveyed its profound sorrow over the human losses suffered by the Cuban people and reiterated its firm and unwavering solidarity with Cuba in the face of the continued threats and aggressive policies of the United States against the sovereign peoples of the region.
The Vice President of the Vatan Party, Serdar Üsküplü, delivered a letter from the President of the Party, Doğu Perinçek, addressed to the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, which emphasizes that these events constitute a serious violation of international law and reaffirms the Vatan Party’s position in support of sovereignty, independence, and the right of peoples to determine their own destiny without external interference. The letter also underscores the historic resistance and dignity of the Cuban people in the face of decades of blockade, pressure, and aggression.
The delegation reaffirmed its support for the brotherhood between the peoples of Türkiye and Cuba, as well as its commitment to peace, international cooperation, and the struggle against imperialism in all its forms.
The Consul General of Cuba, Raúl E. Madrigal Cárdenas, expressed his appreciation for the gesture of solidarity by the Vatan Party and positively valued the support expressed at a moment of special significance for the Cuban people.
