The Cuban delegation headed by Vice Chancellor Rogelio Sierra and integrated by the director of the Caribbean and Central America in the MINREX, Jorge Luis Mayo, met at the Cuban Embassy headquarters with a representation of the Barbados Martyrs´ Cuban Residents Association, which served to exchange on the issues that most interest the community, including migration policy, as well as to receive an update on the socioeconomic and political reality in Cuba by the Vice Minister, which culminated with an explanation of the current process initiated by the National Assembly of the People's Power directed to the constitutional reform, the previous process of popular consultation and the subsequent referendum that will be convened for its approval. For its part, several of its members contributed to the exchange with several elements, including the words of welcome of the honorary president, Colvert Belgrave, and its current president Yaima Espinosa, who introduced the new directive of the Association and made a brief historical synopsis since its emergence. Both the Ambassador and the Consul made their contributions to the substantive part of the meeting, which culminated in a fraternization activity and the delivery to the delegation of allegorical souvenirs to the two sister islands.
