Vientiane April 6, 2023. Dr. Chanpheng Southivong, Vice President of the Lao Front for National Development, FLDN, of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, received at the headquarters, the Ambassador of Cuba to that country, Hon. Enna Viant Valdes.
Dr. Southivong offered an overview of the fundamental tasks of the organization and expressed his willingness to continue expanding exchanges between counterpart organizations, with specific actions included in the current Memorandum of Understanding.
For her side, the Cuban diplomat updated on the results of the national elections held in Cuba on March 26, which reflected the will of 75.87% of voters, to continue supporting the Cuban Revolution and its political and socio-economic project, despite the attempts to undermine and destroy it in different ways, including the illegal and intensified economic, financial and commercial blockade that has affected the Caribbean island for more than 60 years. The occasion was propitious to send congratulations and wishes of prosperity to the Lao Government and people, on the occasion of the New Year, known as Pi Mai.
