The Prof. Dr. Chaleun Yiapaoher, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, vice president of the National Assembly of the Republic, president of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba and president of the Friendship Association Laos-Cuba, received today the Ambassador of Cuba, Pablo A. Rodríguez Vidal at the headquarters of said legislative body, together with other officials of the Assembly, the Party, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and members of the directive of the aforementioned Friendship Association.
The Ambassador, after congratulating Dr. Chaleun on his appointment to the post, made a summary of the situation in Cuba at this time. On his part, the Vice President of the Assembly once again expressed the support of his country in Cuba's fight for the elimination of the blockade that the US Government maintains on the island for more than 60 years.
Other issues on the bilateral agenda between Cuba and Laos were analyzed at the meeting.
