The Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, Cevdet Yilmaz, received on Tuesday afternoon, March 12, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz.
During the friendly meeting, Yılmaz and Cabrisas reviewed the positive state of political relations between the two countries and agreed on the importance of promoting and deepening economic, trade, financial and cooperation relations between Havana and Ankara, particularly in areas such as renewable energy, agriculture, livestock, construction, industry, health and tourism.
Cabrisas conveyed an affectionate greeting from President Díaz-Canel to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and thanked Turkey's traditional position in favor of the resolution adopted every year by the United Nations General Assembly against the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
The Cuban Ambassador to Turkey, Dr. Alejandro F. Díaz Palacios, and Oscar Ramos Redondo, First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Ankara, participated on the Cuban side.
On the Turkish side, Ambassador Yaprak Alp, General Director for the Americas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye was present.
