Vietnam's president, Tran Dai Quang, reaffirmed his country's willingness to stand side by side with Cuba in any difficult situation, during the meeting here with Leopoldo Cintra Frías, minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of the Caribbean island.
After emphasizing and thanking Cuba's support for Vietnam, both in the struggle for independence in the past and in the construction and national safeguard in the present, Tran Dai Quang expressed his satisfaction with the development of the bilateral cooperation in all spheres.
He reaffirmed the determination of the Communist Party, the Vietnamese State and people to continue strengthening friendship and solidarity with Cuba, including increasing the exchange of experiences and assistance in many areas, including defense-security.
In appreciating the close ties between the Vietnam Ministry of Defense and that of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, the host applauded the recent signing of the cooperation plan between the two sides for the period 2017-2019 and stressed the importance of fostering links in defense of the current situation in the region and in the world.
On the other hand, Cintra Frías hinhlighted the growth of traditional friendship and fraternal cooperation between Cuba and Vietnam in general, and between the two portfolios in particular.
He informed to the President the results of his recent meeting with the Minister of Defense, Ngo Xuan Lich and proposed the support of the Vietnamese State for the promotion of collaboration between the two Ministries. (CubaMinrex - EmbaCuba Vietnam)
