Athens, February 12. A virtual act in tribute to the 62 years of the Cuban Revolution was organized in Greece by the Hellenic Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity (AHCAS) on February 7 under the title "The Cuban Revolution and its living and current achievements."
The event was presented by the Secretary General of the Athens Association who thanked those who attended and those who were going to speak. The Cuban Ambassador to Greece, Zelmys María Domínguez Cortina, took the floor underlining that the Cuban revolution “has been a historical milestone in the 20th century, and her example has been a source of inspiration for many fighters for the dignity of peoples throughout the world, even today " She thanked the solidarity and stated:" The solidarity of friends like you encourages the resistance of our people to continue firm in their ethical, internationalist, humanist principles and in the fight for a better world, which we know it's possible".
Then 15 people intervened, such as the presidents of the subsidiaries of the Hellenic Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity in Athens, Thessaloniki and Cephalonia and Ithaca, as well as presidents representing mass organizations representing the movements for peace, of women , of international solidarity, of trade unions and of the fighters against the military dictatorship of 1967-1973, journalists, people of culture, a brigade member of those who went to Cuba in the ICAP brigades, a member of the Cuban community in Greece , a member of the European Parliament, a former mayor. All have condemned the blockade imposed by the various governments of the United States and have expressed their admiration for the struggle of the Cuban people and their full support for the Revolution.
Among the interventions a member of the Cuban community living in Greece sang Cuban songs.
So far the online event has been seen by about 800 people.
