Visit of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba to the Caribbean. Meeting with the Minister in charge of Social Transformation and Environment of Antigua and Barbuda, Senator Samantha Marshall

Senator Samantha Marshall, Minister of Social Transformation and Environment at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Environment of Antigua and Barbuda received the Diplomatic Representative of the Republic of Cuba, Sergio Jorge Pastrana, and the Director of Research and Development of Company Gamma of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba, Pavel Morales Díaz, with whom she discussed the possibilities of collaboration in specific aspects of the work to deal with disasters, recovery, adaptation and mitigation in the face of impacts of climate change, as well as about the strategies for the promotion of sustainable development and the resilience of the small island developing states of the Caribbean in the face of the enormous challenges imposed by the current world state of affairs.

The meeting with Senator Marshall was the prelude to meetings with other specialized entities from Antigua and Barbuda with which we will continue to explore opportunities for cooperation on issues of such importance to our two sister island countries in the Caribbean.
